Our Team
Rob Howitt - Company Director (DSA Approved Motorcycle Instructor, DSA Approved Driving Instructor)
Hi I am Robert. Welcome to my Motorbike and Car Training School.
I have been riding motorbikes since 1972 and driving cars since 1976, and have had an amazing passion for them ever since.
A few cars and bikes over the years, however my favourite bike has to be my BMW R1200GS A :-) and my favourite car was my Jaguar XJ6.
I enjoy riding to Europe especially France. I am a pretty normal sort of Guy, love my job and love my life.
This is reflected in my teaching style.
I founded RJH Driver & Rider Training in 2002, with a 50cc, 125cc, and a 500cc. Since then we have evolved to teaching bikes, teaching cars and selling bike related gear!
Since 2002 we have taught thousands of drivers and riders. I am results orientated, and you can be rest assured that we here at RJH are committed to making your experience with us enjoyable and successful.
I am currently an Instructor graded:
Bikes A
Cars 5

Lisa Simpson - Admin Manager
Hi, I'm Lisa Simpson (no relation to Bart!!!). I'm a mum of 3 with a huge passion for motorbikes (ok, I'm lying about the bikes but it sounds good). However, I was recently encouraged (by the boss) to take
my CBT which was amazing.
Within a week I got my own Scooter, decorated it with flowers and now just take off between school runs. The most incredible feeling ever.
If you have any queries or require any information I am just a phone call away. My ever-cheerful voice is always at the other end of the phone and when you call RJH you can be
sure of a happy, friendly welcome. I can take your bookings (and payments), deal with your enquiries, schedule your lessons and tests. I am available anytime from 9am - 9pm seven days a week!!!
I look forward to hearing from you soon x

Steve Halsall - DSA Approved Motorcycle Instructor
I passed my test when I was 17 years old and since then i have clocked up over one million miles...WOW some stories to tell you.
I was fortunate to undertake several advanced police training courses in the early eighties, which introduced me to a different more thinking side of my riding, without taking anything away from the fun I can have.
It took me a while to adjust to the training side of things but now having looked after literally hundreds of trainees I have developed a deep understanding of their needs for development. The key is two wheels, I enjoy passing on what I have learned from others.

Sylvia Eager - DSA Approved Motorcycle Instructor
Hi, I'm Sylvia and I'm 29 years old. I have been riding motorbikes for almost 14 years.
I have always had a passion for motorcycles. I got my first bike when I was 11 years old, a little Yamaha TY 80cc. I used to ride around the fields on it. I still have this bike and I will be restoring it, once I get a chance!I got my first road motorbike, Honda NS1 80cc, when I was 16 years old, a generous birthday present from my parents. I then progressed on to ride a Honda NSR 125cc and nowI ride my dream bike, a Honda CBR 600 RR6.
Yes, I do like Hondas. I use a Honda CBF 500cc for Instructing.
I love Instructing and meeting new people. I believe I am a very friendly and patient person. I am very determined and enthusiastic whilst also being professional and approachable at all times. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Jeff Sharp - DSA Approved Motorcycle Instructor
Hello my names Jeff Sharp and you’ll see me mainly at the Salford site.
I’m 56 years old enough to know better and I’ve been riding since 1976 and instructing since 1984- I think I’m on my 19th bike!
It was pretty unregulated when I started my riding career and if it wasn’t for experienced bikers taking me “under their wing” I doubt if I (or my MZ) would have seen 1977 (in one case this might have been no bad thing). Since then I’ve been trying to put back in biking what was given to me and I’m proud to have been involved in the development of rider training and to have instructed at every level.
I soon worked out I was never going to be the fastest rider (being part of the team that set the endurance record on the TT course was fast enough for me!) so I have been trying to become the oldest- as they say they are bold riders and old riders but few old bold riders… And Yes- I still enjoy riding, I still get a buzz when I get a beginner onto the road the first time and I will have a little smile when you pass your test.
Away from riding my other passion is sailing- it’s more alike than you think, even wetter and also has odd clothing!
