
Changes to the tiers in England |
The government has announced changes to the tiers from 12:01am on 31 December to control the spread of coronavirus. These will remain in place until at least the next formal government review. You can read more about what areas will move tiers and the measures on GOV.UK Motorcycle and specialist vehicle lessons and CBTAll rider training, including compulsory basic training (CBT), can continue in areas in Tiers 1 to 3. All motorcycle lessons must not take place in Tier 4 areas until the restrictions are lifted. CBT must also be suspended until the restrictions are lifted in Tier 4 areas. You must not travel out of a Tier 4 area to give training or to take a pupil for a test. Motorcycle and specialist vehicle testsMotorcycle tests can continue as usual in areas in Tiers 1 to 3. All motorcycle tests will be suspended in areas in Tier 4 until the restrictions are lifted. If you have booked a test for any of your pupils in a Tier 4 area until the date of the government’s next formal review, it will be cancelled and you will be automatically refunded. You will need to contact your pupil to let them know. Motorcycle manoeuvring area (MMA) bookingsYou can continue to book and train on MMAs in areas in Tiers 1 to 3.
