First up on the newly featured ‘On the saddle with’ we have Bradley!
Q) Which site did you train with RJH and how was your experience in terms of facilities and treatment on arrival?
A) I trained at RJH Eccles with both Rob and Graham. The facilities are great, and the staff are very friendly – the bikes are great too and they make safety the top priority! It is a great place to learn.
Q) We all know as soon as you pass, you’re eager to get on the road! So, since passing your test with RJH, how many miles have you covered?
A) Since passing I have covered a few hundred miles - not too many as I only passed in the winter - but I feel very confident on my new bike already!
Q) The phrase ‘every day is a school day’ is commonly used - have you learnt and implemented a new technique whilst learning with RJH?
A) One of the bad habits I had before going to RJH was cruising on the clutch when slowing down. Graham immediately took note of this and told me to stop. Using the engine braking more than before as a result has definitely improved my riding!
Q) What’s the furthest distance you’ve travelled on your bike since passing?
A) Unfortunately, due to COVID I haven't been too far; but a small trip over the cat and fiddle on a nice day was too tempting. So, Buxton is probably as far as I have been.
Q) What’s your favourite motorbike? And/or is there one you have your eyes on?
A) I have 2 favourite bikes that I aspire to get once I pass my full licence (I only have an a2) these bikes are the Ducati 999 (great for one off trips) and the 07/08 Ninja ZX6R. Both quite unique bikes in their style but you have to love a high mounted exhaust.
Q) Setting goals is important as it gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation – have you set yourself any for the future?
A) My goal for the future is definitely getting my full licence once I have had my a2 for a couple of years. As well as this, I would love to hit the track and tour Europe on my Ninja 650. I am also looking out for further ways to better my riding by searching for any extra courses I could do in the future.
Q) And finally, favourite instructor, and why?!
A) Favourite instructor is hard because Rob and Graham are both fantastic. I'd say Graham has the best bike (that BMW is a stunner) and Rob has a great bike school - so we can split the winnings
Thanks for taking part, Bradley! Tune in next week
