1 Hour Taster

(2 customer reviews)

Your Taster session is on a 1 to 1 ratio, meaning its just you and your Instructor.

A Qualified Instructor will brief you about the taster session and kit you out with a helmet and safety gear.
Then you get to ride a 125cc motorbike or a 50cc scooter away from the road on a secure training area with the help from your instructor.
They will get you used to the gears and throttle and soon you’ll be grinning like you did when you learnt to ride a push-bike.

After your hour’s session, you can find out more about your CBT at any of our sites across the North West and going for a Full Motorcycle License, how to buy a motorcycle or scooter and what kind might suit you, or anything else you want to know about life on two wheels.
Then you’re well on the way to enjoying the freedom, fun and flexibility that life on two wheels brings.
If by any chance you don’t like it, you can walk away – you’ve had the experience and it’s not cost you a FULL CBT price.
The main objectives are to learn the basic controls, moving off, stopping, slow control and changing gears.

I had my 1 hour taster session in Northwich this afternoon with Graham which was absolutely fantastic!

I wanted to learn to ride, following my brothers. Being female, I felt very nervous at first. Graham put me at ease. He introduced himself and asked me about myself and my riding experience – which was none! Graham explained what we were going to do during my taster session then I was ‘kitted out,’ donning my high visibility jacket, gloves and helmet.

We went out to the off road secure training area. Graham took out a 50cc scooter and introduced me to the main controls. Being completely brand new and never having any experience of riding whatsoever, the main aim was to get me to ride and learn to start and stop safely. Admittedly, I was terrible at first, wobbling and trying to find my balance. It was reminiscent of my learning to ride a bicycle at 7 years old with a mixture of trying to find my ‘biting-point’ when learning to drive a car. Nevertheless Graham was very patient and by the end of the session, I was riding the scooter around the training area and was able to start and stop smoothly. 🙂

I would like to mention that when searching for motorbike training, I contacted 3 other companies who all wanted me to book and pay for their CBT training costing 120 to 135 GBP. Lisa at RJH was the only one who advised and recommended the taster session due to my lack of experience. The taster session enabled Graham to gauge what level of riding skill I was at and what training I require(d) to be competent in achieving my goals. I will be going back for another taster session with Graham hopefully this time on a geared motorbike and then to undertake my CBT when he feels I am ready.

I am glad that I did not go ahead with the other companies and straight away book my CBT training as I would not have passed it. I also would have lost 120 – 135 GBP. I am very happy that I chose RJH and took this taster session which I would highly recommend to anyone who has no experience in riding.

RJH give sound advice and is the reason why they have such stellar reviews. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank-you Lisa for recommending this taster session and Graham in particular who was patient to put up with me this afternoon!!
